Trekking Colonnata Murales di Kobra
Overview
Unique trek due to the diversity of terrain and the painting Michelangelo's David, it is the protagonist of a mural ten meters high and twelve meters long that stands out among the white sparkling with a quarry of precious marble. The author is the Brazilian street artist of internationally renowned Eduardo Kobra who has been traveling all over the world for years filling walls of cities with their colorful characters so that they can be an inspiration for who watches them. In June 2017 the artist arrived in Italy and put himself to the test creating an extraordinary work with a very profound symbolic meaning. He painted the famous David by Michelangelo Buonarroti reinterpreting it with his colors harlequin on one of the highest walls of the Gualtiero Corsi quarry, in the splendid frame of the Apuan Alps, between Massa and Carrara. A tiring job, under the sun, which the artist did everything himself by climbing the white wall every day. The mural was created in collaboration with the Municipality of Massa, as part of the TV series “Muro”, for Sky Arte HD. The path backwards is not the same, you will arrive at a beautiful chestnut forest for the last stop before descending and returning to Colonnata for a regenerative snack with the legendary Lardo.
