Cinque Terre White Wine Tasting
Overview
When it speak about of Cinque Terre wine, it can only speak of white wine and the sea, sun, rock, salt, wind, Mediterranean scrub, aromatic herbs, verticality, courage, resistance, power!
There are three vines that make up this wine: Bosco, Vermentino, Albarola. The ability of the producer is to know how to use them together and dose them according to the coast where the grapes come from, sunnier exposure, less windy, fresher, more exposed and so on … because in this small stretch of coast nature is an integral and essential part for the success of the product.
And from here the various styles of the producers are born, who from their somewhat introverted, shy and few words, synonymous with Ligurian authenticity, but with firmness and courage, manage to transfer the passion, love and strength they have today, and their old ones once, in wine, which we can comfortably taste in the glass.
The Wine tasting will be complemented by videos explaining the history and evolution of viticulture in the Cinque Terre, enriched with stories and anecdotes by Yvonne, a sommelier originally from Manarola, A.i.s. Professional sommelier since 2007 and Best Sommelier of Liguria 2012.
Guided tasting, three half glasses of Cinque Terre white wine from different cellars, using the sense of sight, the sense of smell, and the sense of taste.
With wine also some ligurian focaccia.
We will finish the experience with a walk with an incredible view on the hill in front of Manarola, the vineyards and dry stone walls, to see viticulture in the Cinque Terre up close.
