Lucca: a journey between culture and flavors!
This tour will take you to discover the fascinating history of the city of Lucca and savor the authentic taste of Lucca's culinary tradition combined with excellent wine from the surrounding hills.
Lucca is known for being the city of a hundred churches for its incredible number of places of worship, for its rich past that led it to defend itself with an impressive circuit of walls, and for being the birthplace of the famous opera composer Giacomo Puccini.
The morning will be devoted to a tour of the old city, to discover the narrow streets and ancient squares as well as an atmospheric walk on the imposing Walls that surround it.
You can choose to visit Lucca on your own or rely on our expert guides with an excellent walking tour.
If you wish this, remember to add the “tour guide” option.
After visiting the city, we will head to the vineyard-grown hills overlooking the Plain of Lucca to the quaint village of Montecarlo, a small and ancient medieval hamlet.
We will be guests of Fattoria Carmignani, which will welcome us with the hospitality typical of family-run businesses and with a whole history of wine written in the foundations (winemakers since 1386). You can find here the right combination of scrupulous tradition and modern technology, so ancient vines and wonderful wines and oils produced by careful hands.
Sommelier Elena will guide you to a “sensory tasting” that is not just a taste experience, but involves more than smell and sight...the perception that taste and flavors can give us.
It is a unique experience, you will have the opportunity to taste 7 wines produced on the Farm accompanied by typical Tuscan food.
At the end of lunch you will have the opportunity to take a short walk through the village of Montecarlo before returning to the hotel
