Private Boat Tour of the Gulf of Poets on the Fairline 39 Targa
Boarding at Porto Mirabello, La Spezia at 10:00 a.m., return at 5:00 p.m. — a 7-hour private day on the water aboard the Fairline 39 Targa, a 12-metre motor yacht completely refitted in 2024, with a maximum of 8 guests on an exclusive charter. Fast, comfortable and well-designed for this coastline, the Fairline combines a large bow sundeck and a stern cockpit with convertible sundeck to give guests generous outdoor space across the full length of the boat — ideal for a long day exploring the Gulf of Poets.
The tour opens on the eastern shore with Lerici, the medieval village dominated by the Castle of San Giorgio, before continuing south along the coast to the hidden villages of Fiascherino and Tellaro — two of Liguria's most atmospheric and least-visited communities, accessible in any meaningful way only from the sea. The route then heads into the open waters of the southern gulf towards the UNESCO-listed archipelago of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto, three spectacular islands entirely unspoiled by development.
Portovenere, Byron's Cave, Aperitif and Optional Lunch on Palmaria
The final destination is Portovenere, where the Fairline anchors in front of the Church of San Pietro, built in the 13th century and framing the small natural cove known as Byron's Cave. Throughout the day, multiple stops for swimming and snorkelling are scheduled in the most sheltered and beautiful coves of the gulf. The Fairline's twin Volvo Penta engines make transfers between stops quick and efficient, leaving more time at anchor in the places that matter.
On board, an aperitif of local Ligurian products accompanied by wine is included — a welcome that sets the flavour of the coast before the guests go ashore. Guests also have the option to disembark on Palmaria Island for a typical local lunch (optional, not included) and/or land in Portovenere for a walk through the picturesque medieval alleys of the village.
Itineraries are subject to weather and sea conditions. The skipper may modify the route at any time to ensure the safety of all guests. Punctuality at boarding and disembarkation is required: delays will incur a charge of €120 per hour. In case of unjustified delay, the captain reserves the right to depart without the late guests.
