Private Boat Tour of the Gulf of Poets: Lerici, Portovenere & UNESCO Islands
Boarding at 10:00 a.m., return at 5:00 p.m. — seven hours on the water aboard the Goletta Kimera, sailing through one of the most storied and scenically layered gulfs in the entire Mediterranean. This is a private full-day boat tour exploring the Gulf of Poets and its extraordinary chain of coastal villages, clifftop churches and protected island archipelagos.
The first stop along the eastern shore of the gulf is Lerici, a medieval village watched over by the Castle of San Giorgio, its towers rising above a waterfront of pastel-coloured houses. The route then continues south past the small hidden villages of Fiascherino and Tellaro — two of Liguria's best-kept secrets, reachable comfortably only by sea.
The UNESCO Archipelago and Portovenere
From the southern shore of the gulf the Goletta heads towards the archipelago of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto, three islands included among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, their limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters forming one of the most intact marine landscapes on this coast. The final destination of the day is Portovenere, where the boat anchors in front of the Church of San Pietro, built in the 13th century and dramatically positioned above a small natural cove known as Byron's Cave — named after the Romantic poet who swam these very waters.
Throughout the day, multiple swimming and snorkelling stops are scheduled in the most beautiful coves along the route. Snorkelling equipment and stand-up paddle are included on board.
Itineraries are subject to weather and sea conditions. The skipper may modify the route at any time to ensure the safety of all guests. Punctuality at boarding and disembarkation is required: delays will incur a charge of €120 per hour. In case of unjustified delay, the captain reserves the right to depart without the late guests.
